DIY Flower Crowns

Every girl deserves some sort of crown. This easy-to-make flower crown makes me want to dig my toes into a sandy beach or frolic through the streets of San Francisco. If you have an hour to spare and $12 in your pocket, you can easily make a headpiece similar to this one that I created.

STEP 1: Get the supplies. I got all of the supplies above from a Michael's craft store. Pick out some of your favorite flower combos, get some floral wire, and some floral tape. The total amount came to $12.

STEP 2: Cut the flowers off the stems. Measure the wire around your head so you can comfortably tie it together.

STEP 3: Add each flower on individually and wrap the floral tape around the stem in order to connect it to the wire. Continue this until the wire is filled up. Don't forget to add as many flowers as you want!

Then, enjoy your flower crown! Ps. Yes, I did cut off 5 inches of my hair and went for a darker colored Ombre. If anyone is looking for an AMAZING hair stylist, go to Salon Avanti in Stockton and ask for Danica. She works wonders. Happy Sunday!

Lace is Always the Case

With the crazy summer I have been having, I was desperate for a "pick-me-up". So instead of splurging on that $200 sweater I really didn't need (want? yes. need? no.), I decided to put on an outfit that made me feel confident to get through my day. I absolutely love lace and find it so feminine & beautiful. I picked up this vintage lace top at a consignment store in midtown Sacramento ($7!) this past spring and it has been one of my favorite pieces this season! Whenever you are having a bad day and need something to feel beautiful in- "Lace is ALWAYS the case!"

PS. Sorry for the blur on the shoes-my dog licked the camera!

Polka Dot Hits The Spot

Summer vacation is slipping out of our grasps but the heat has decided to stick around a little longer. It has been in the 100s pretty much every day, so this past weekend I decided to go with a cool & simple outfit. I got a chance to wear it to my best friend's going away party (She is going to college in HAWAII to play basketball! Jealous!) and got nothing but compliments. I love the look of Polka Dots and mixing colors of the same pattern. As the title says, "Polka Dots hit the spot!" (Thanks Rebecca Park for that clever title!)
PS. My pup Nahla liked the polka dots, too!

Denim Doesn't Give Me the Blues

After much deliberation, I have decided to give the chambray look a try. I paired it with a bold statement necklace ($15!) from a little slice of heaven in midtown Sacramento in the form of a boutique called Heart and white cut-offs that I have had in my closet forever. I love the casual & simplistic feel of this outfit while the necklace just tops it off!
